Light therapy that helps your body heal, without needles, heat, or downtime.
Cold laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to help your body reduce pain and inflammation naturally. You won’t feel heat. You won’t feel cold. Most people don’t feel anything during treatment—but they notice the difference hours or days later.
It works for chronic pain that’s been around for years. It works for acute injuries that just happened. And because it’s gentle, it’s a good option if other treatments feel too intense.
What Cold Laser Helps
- Wrist pain and carpal tunnel
- Chronic back, neck, or joint pain
- Acute injuries (sprains, strains, recent flare-ups)
- Tennis elbow and repetitive strain injuries
- Stress and nervous system imbalance
- Acne (FDA-cleared use)
How It Works
Most cold lasers use red or violet light. Ours uses green and violet, which means it reaches deeper into tissue.
Here’s what happens: The light stimulates your cells to repair themselves faster. Inflammation goes down. Circulation improves. Pain reduces.
Our device is FDA-cleared for pain and acne treatment. But we also use it for stress relief, balancing your nervous system, and helping your body shift out of fight-or-flight mode.
What to Expect
During the session: You’ll lie on the chiropractic table (or sit, depending on where we’re working). We’ll place the laser on the area we’re treating. Sometimes we’ll hold it and move it around. Other times it sits on a stand.
Sessions last 5 to 15 minutes. Usually about 10.
After the session: Some people notice relief right away. Others notice it a few hours later. It’s not instant for everyone, but it’s cumulative. The more treatments you do, the better the results.
Treatment plan: We recommend 5 to 10 sessions for best results. You can come in once a week and add it to your chiropractic adjustment if you’d like.
Why Choose Cold Laser vs. Shockwave?
Both work. Here’s how we think about it:
Choose cold laser if:
- You’re sensitive to touch or pressure
- You want something gentle and calming
- You don’t need to “feel” the treatment to believe it’s working
Choose shockwave if:
- You want something more intense
- You like feeling the treatment as it happens
- You have deeper tissue adhesions
Not sure which one? We’ll talk through it at your first appointment.
Common Questions
Does it hurt?
No. You won’t feel heat or cold. Most people feel nothing during treatment, though some notice a gentle warmth.
How is this different from regular laser therapy?
“Cold” laser means it’s a low-level laser that doesn’t generate heat. It stimulates healing without damaging tissue. Our device also uses green light in addition to violet, which isn’t common and allows for deeper penetration.
Can I do this if I’m already doing chiropractic or acupuncture?
Yes. In fact, we often recommend combining treatments. We can add cold laser to your existing appointment.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people see the best results with 5 to 10 sessions. Some conditions resolve in fewer. Others take more. We’ll reassess as we go.
Is it covered by insurance?
We’re an out-of-network provider, so cold laser is paid out-of-pocket. Upon request, we can provide a superbill for potential reimbursement.
